Put together by Niche, the rankings take into account cost of living, higher education, crime, the public school system, nightlife, healthcare, housing trends, employment statistics, and a lot more to come up with the selections.
In Fairfield County, Greenwich, Ridgefield, Fairfield, and New Canaan came in on top.
Ridgefield, with the average home valued at $673,900, ranked at number three for its safety, A+ schools, and for its "awesome" people who support each other and like to have fun.
Greenwich, with a $1,205,600 average home price, ranked eighth in the state for its low crime with only 11 assaults listed last year, and education with most local schools receiving an A+ ranking. Residents and people who work in the area pointed to the beauty and cleanliness of the city as the main reason it's a top spot to live.
New Canaan, with a median home value of $1,373,100, came in 15th, not only for its beauty but for its great schools and family-friendly events. Other highlights included low crime rate, making residents feel safe, a strong sense of community, and plenty of upscale dining and shopping.
Fairfield, with an average home value of $589,500, came in 20th, for its seaside beauty with low crime and great schools. Residents said the town also offered everything from great dining and shopping, to cultural arts, and a close-knit community.
